Launched with Love on a Day I’ll Always Remember

August 13 is a special but sad day for me. It marks the day my late husband, Wyndham, was born. And it’s also a reminder that there are no more birthdays to celebrate…at least on this earth.
Today, the 13th,  would have been Wyndham’s 73rd birthday.

He lived a life shaped by love. A Spirit-rooted love that flowed from a pure heart, a good conscience, and a sincere faith. That verse, 1 Timothy 1:5, was his favorite, and it became the heartbeat of the life we shared.

Each year on his birthday I do something special in his honor. So, it felt right to launch The Inside of the Cup today. Because this book, in many ways, describes the journey he finished. May I introduce:

💧 The Inside of the Cup: Spiritual Formation from the Inside Out

This book is about becoming more from deep inside. More whole. More rooted. More alive in Christ.

We often clean the outside of the cup, tending to appearances, behavior, and performance. But Jesus called us to transformation from the inside out. That’s the journey this book invites you into. Not surface spirituality, but soul-deep formation.

Each chapter invites readers to reflect, reframe, and receive. It includes Scripture, spiritual practices, honest questions, and room to wrestle with God and be renewed by grace.

📘 What’s Inside

The chapter themes include:

  • Who is God to Me?
  • Who Am I? Identity and Why it Matters
  • Paying Attention: Gratitude, Awe, and Praise
  • Receiving and Experiencing God
  • Motivation and Core Values
  • Forgiveness and Transformation
  • Lament’s Role in Transformation
  • Traps, Vulnerability, and Self-Awareness
  • Calling and Gifting: Responding to the Voices Within
  • Formation as Pilgrimage: Memory and Imaging
  • Formed in Community

The journey, while personal, is also one we’re meant to take together. Thus, I’ve added workbooks for taking it deeper.

📚 Companion Workbooks

I’ve also created two accompanying workbooks:

  • Workbook for Individuals and Small Groups
Includes chapter summaries, journaling space, prompts for discussion, and spiritual formation tools for deeper engagement with separate tracks for personal reflection and group discussion.
  • Workbook for Families
Created for parents and teens to explore formation together. It includes reflective prompts, creative teaching tools, practical guidance, and a format designed for shared spiritual growth. It also includes a downloadable, abridged version of the book for teenagers, particularly for younger teens.

Writing this wasn’t just a project. It was a prayerful, sacred process; a pouring out of what I’ve been learning and unlearning over a lifetime. And I share it now with hope: that it will meet you where you are and help you walk more closely with the God who loves you from the inside out.

Whether you’re navigating transition, parenting kids of various ages, leading a group, mentoring teens, questioning, feeling stuck, desiring guidance in growth, or are just longing for something more—I hope this book blesses you deeply.

Thank you for walking with me. I’ll be posting soon about small group coaching sessions I will be offering .

With love and gratitude,
Jeanie
